The Dajmy Nadzieję Foundation is a Lviv-based charity organisation that offers help to those in need, particularly sick children and the disabled. Since its establishment, the foundation has upheld its Christian, Roman Catholic values, which are the basis for all actions taken by its management and volunteers.
The foundation was born out of the activism and observations of Janina Andrejczuk, a doctor working at the intensive care unit of the Western Ukrainian Specialised Children’s Medical Centre. During her work there, she was able to identify two things every terminally ill child lacks: mobile medical equipment and care at home. These observations spurred Andrejczuk to found, together with the parish priest of the Lviv Cathedral, Prelate Jan Nikiel, the Dajmy Nadzieję Foundation in 2011.

The foundation not only offers medical help, but also renders various forms of social, educational and cultural assistance. In recent years, it has expanded its scope of activities significantly,
but one of its key projects is the House Hospice for Children. Terminally ill children who require constant care can not only find medical help there, but the hospice also provides them with the medicines, care products and medical equipment they need, in addition to offering them a friendly, home-like environment.
Since 2015, the hospice has organised holiday trips for families with terminally ill children. This is an important initiative that offers such families opportunities to rest and bond together. The trips also involve lectures given by specialists and therapy sessions.
Another important initiative is ‘Anielski Kwiat’ – Angel Blossom, which involves occupational therapy workshops aimed at young people and adults with mental disabilities. Participants can pursue their artistic passions, learn art and crafts and participate in art therapy.
The foundation also educates by offering struggling children remedial classes at the parish after school centre. The staff helps them with homework, and the children can also attend additional classes and summer day camps, which offer them opportunities to develop through dance, music, theatre and art.

Every year since 2012, the foundation has organised the Christmas Fair, which is very popular with the residents of Lviv. The funds collected during the fair are used to purchase care products and medical equipment.
The foundation’s actions have earned the support of more than 60 dedicated volunteers, who participate in all manner of initiatives, projects and actions.
The Dajmy Nadzieję Foundation is a great example of an organisation that not only helps those in need, but also inspires others to contribute to the common good. Thanks to its efforts, many people have been given support and a chance for a better life.
